Arsenal have Germany and England interest in Eddie Nketiah
Arsenal have reportedly sparked interest from German and English clubs in Eddie Nketiah, who has yet to sign a new contract.
The 22-year-old has so far failed to put pen to paper on a new deal with the Gunners, despite new terms.
Nketiah is currently free to leave in 2022, which brings up a sticky situation with the north London club and the youngster.
And the Athletic have now reported that Nketiah is likely to be sold this summer, with the Gunners responding to requests from Germany and England so far in the window.
Nketiah returned to Arsenal after a good loan spell with Leeds United the previous season. Initially, it seemed to be part of Mikel Arteta’s plans as well.
The Gunners boss called Nketiah “extraordinary” in the summer of 2020. But since then, the forward has declined.
Nketiah only scored both goals last season. He has only started four Premier League games, despite having scored three goals in just eight Europa League appearances.
Time is up for Nketiah
Another young player who has promised so much but who unfortunately did not quite keep his promises.
Now is probably the time for Eddie Nketiah to move on. He needs regular football, whether it’s abroad, in the league, or if a PL team takes a punt.
There is definitely something with Nketiah. He has the instinct of an attacker that few have, but sometimes he disappears. This is a big area of his game that he needs to work on.
If Arsenal can get the money, then this deal makes sense to everyone.
