Get ready for a watch that will make a bold statement! Artya, a brand known for its rule-breaking designs, is about to unveil something truly unique.
Artya, founded by Yvan Arpa, has a reputation for creating watches with an impressive and distinctive character. While their recent models have been more toned-down, the family-run business continues to embrace innovation and creativity. And their latest collaboration with retailer Ahmed Seddiqi for Dubai Watch Week 2025 is no exception.
Introducing the Artya AquaSaphir, a sporty yet elegant timepiece with a twist. At first glance, it resembles a dive watch with its notched bezel and 60-minute scale. But this watch is more than meets the eye. It's a fusion of sporty design and the extensive use of sapphire crystal, resulting in a unique and eye-catching piece.
While it may not be suitable for deep-sea diving, that's not the point. The AquaSaphir is a statement watch, and one of the two versions created with Seddiqi is an absolute showstopper.
Technically, these UAE editions are similar to previous models, featuring a 41mm case, a fixed sapphire bezel with a 60-minute scale, and an impressive water resistance of 60 meters. The watch is powered by a reliable La Joux-Perret G100 movement with an impressive 68-hour power reserve.
What sets these editions apart is the attention to detail in the case, bezel, and dial. The dial is crafted from aventurine glass, adding a sparkling touch with applied markers and hands filled with SLN. It also bears the UAE flag and an Arabic inscription, a beautiful tribute to the host country.
The limited edition model is crafted from emerald green sapphire, a material that is extremely hard yet polished to perfection for maximum transparency. The unique version takes it a step further, presenting a single-block bezel in four different colors, inspired by the UAE flag. This was achieved through a NanoSapphire treatment, a molecular-level process that allows for this stunning effect.
Priced at CHF 49,900 for the limited green model and CHF 79,900 for the unique quadri-color piece, these Artya AquaSaphir Dubai Editions are available from the brand or retailer Ahmed Seddiqi.
So, what do you think? Is this a bold and innovative design or a step too far? We'd love to hear your thoughts in the comments below!
