Male Employees of the Provincial Government Participate in KATROPA Family Responsibility Training
Male employees of the provincial government joined a two-day Kalalakihang Tapat sa Responsibilidad at Obligasyon sa Pamilya (KATROPA) training, organized by the Commission on Population and Development and the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office. The event, held on November 26 and 28 at the VJR Hall of the Capitol, aimed to strengthen the role of men in family welfare and development.
Abigail D. Ablaña, head of the PSWDO, emphasized the significance of this training during POPDEV Week, stating, 'As we celebrate POPDEV Week, we honor all men as pillars of the family. Empowered men build empowered families, and empowered families create a stronger, more progressive Palawan.'
First District Board Member Winston Arzaga, representing Governor Amy Roa Alvarez, expressed support for the participating Capitol employees, highlighting the importance of their involvement in this initiative.
KATROPA, a program of the CPD and PSWDO, focuses on promoting responsible fatherhood and male engagement in family welfare. The training covered essential topics such as health, family planning, parenting, and community participation, encouraging men to take an active role in these areas.
This activity was part of the 2025 Population and Development Week observance, which aims to strengthen male engagement in family, health, and community issues, ultimately fostering a more progressive and empowered Palawan.
