Scarlett Johansson's Directorial Debut at Women and World Fest: 'Eleanor the Great'
London's Women and the World International Film Festival concludes its second edition on November 12th with Scarlett Johansson's directorial debut, 'Eleanor the Great'.
The star of the film, Erin Kellyman, will participate in a post-screening Q&A session, moderated by Victoria Emslie, the British actor-producer behind 'Primetime' and a member of the festival jury. Emslie shared her thoughts on the film's impact, stating that it encourages us to confront loneliness and embrace vulnerability, challenging the fear of connection and fostering a sense of community.
The festival, which runs from November 6th to 12th, has been a platform for diverse voices and impactful storytelling. The festival's opening night featured 'Sanatorium', Ireland's Oscar entry, where Lady Sophie Windsor presented the Women of Global Impact Award to Nicole Ansari-Cox for her advocacy work with displaced women worldwide. Ansari-Cox emphasized the importance of supporting refugee women and filmmakers, stating that women's empowerment leads to community healing and that art can serve as a bridge between pain and hope.
The festival was founded by Ukrainian producers through Talented U Limited, a London-based nonprofit organization that connects creative professionals across various countries, fostering collaboration and cultural exchange.
