Babar, Rizwan and Suryakumar battle for the top spot in the ICC T20I Batting Rankings
Mohammad Rizwan, Babar Azam and Suryakumar Yadav are battling for the top spot in the latest MRF Tires ICC Men’s T20I Batting rankings to be released on Wednesday.
The Asian giants face off in the Asian Cup in the United Arab Emirates, but there is another fight in the batting ratings with Babar Azam, Suryakumar Yadav and Mohammad Rizwan in a close fight for the top spot in the batting ratings T20I.
Babar continued to hold on to the top spot despite pressure from teammate Rizwan and India‘s Yadav until last week. But a string of low scores from Babar and half-centuries from Rizwan and Suryakumar last week could see a shake-up at the top of the leaderboard this week when the ICC releases the player rankings on Wednesday.

Rizwan is the Asian Cup’s top scorer so far with 192 points, including two 50 in three matches. Pakistan’s first game reached 50 against Hong Kong and India, and also scored 43 in the first game against India in the tournament.
Yadav, on the other hand, slammed a sensational 26 ball 68* against Hong Kong. Babar hasn’t had a great run in the tournament with scores of 10, 9 and 14 in the three matches so far.
Currently, Babar is atop the batting standings with 810 runs. Rizwan with 796 points and Yadav with 792 points are close behind.
Yadav had come close to taking first place in India’s ODI against West Indies. He was the series leading scorer with 135 points, but the decision to rest him for the final game meant he missed the chance to pass Babar.
However, the Pakistan skipper’s ordinary scoring streak could see a move to the top of the MRF Tires ICC T20I batting charts for the first time in a long time. Babar has held the top spot for over 1,000 days.
