Football and cricket together on Monday at the premises of the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bangalore as captain of Indian football team Sunil Chhetri was spotted visiting the home of Indian cricket. Chhetri has captured the hearts of football and cricket fans nationwide by interacting with cricketers from teams in the North East region and with those who play in the Ranji Trophy group of plates.

In a video that has gone viral on the internet, the legendary footballer was seen taking part and performing well in pitch drills with members of the cricket team present around him. The star striker has impressed in training with an impressive catch and throw.

BCCI posted the clip on Twitter and captioned the post, “NCA neighbour, captain and Indian football legend @chetrisunil11 dropped by on Sunday night. He had a delightful on-field competition and shared some lessons from his incredible journey in football with the boys of the North East and Flat Teams.”

Chhetri also interacted with the NCA cricket manager and one of India‘s best cricketers of bygone era. VVS Laxman. The legendary sporting duo were spotted holding a valuable session with the young players at the NCA premises. “Head Cricket, NCA – @VVSLaxman281 and Indian Football Captain and Legend – @chetrisunil11 interact with boys from North East and Plate teams,” BCCI wrote in a tweet.

Chhetri shares a special relationship with Bengaluru as he has played for Indian Super League (ISL) club Bengaluru FC for 9 years after joining them in 2013. Chhetri helped them win the I-League twice before moving to the hottest property in indian football. Indian Super League (ISL) in 2017. Chhetri-led Bengaluru reached the ISL final in 2017-18 and won the title the following year.

Chhetri made his debut for India in 2005 and has since represented the national team in 125 matches and scored 80 goals. The talisman striker is the Blue Tigers’ all-time leading scorer.
