Key observation of former India coach’s Rishabh pants on MS Dhoni comparison
Rishabh Pant has been removed from the Indian cricket team’s XI for the 3rd match T20I. The dashing wicket-striking striker’s place in the team is by no means assured as management have put their faith in Dinesh Karthik; which was quite deadly. It looks like the left-handed hitter should be warming up the benches as the team has no intention of playing with 7 hitters.
The Men in Blue are reportedly aware that the team does not have a left-handed hitter in the middle order. Rahul Dravid had said that the team selection depended on the conditions. It looks like management is going to use Rishabh Pant as a secret weapon.
R Sridhar on Rishabh pants
Former India outfield manager R Sridhar had an interaction with cricket.com and was asked about Rishabh Pant. “There’s a bit of Mahi in him. Obviously, when you grow up idolizing someone, they tend to become a part of you. You can see a bit of Mahi in Rishabh. And rightly so, because he grew up idolizing the great man,” said R Sridhar
“He seems very friendly, very jovial. He likes to laugh off the field. He’s quite detached from everything else when he’s off the pitch and is very relaxed; someone who likes to have fun. He enjoys his other sports. A wonderful guy,” he said.
Critical series for India
The Indian cricket team would be flying high after beating Australia 2-1 in a 3 game series. The Men in Blue got their mojo back at the right time. Management would be delighted as the team showed signs of handling situations quite easily.
South Africa won’t be as strong a team as Australia, but they have players who can disrupt the Indian cricket team. Rahul Dravid and Rohit Sharma are hoping for a bouncy, grassy pitch as playing in flat decks won’t do much good for the upcoming T20 World Cup 2022 in Australia.
