Minor League Baseball: Caleb Boushley wins 2 after promotion | Sports
Former UW-La Crosse pitcher Caleb Boushley has won both starts since being promoted to the AAA El Paso Chihuahuas class.
Boushley, who was selected by the San Diego Padres in the 33rd round of the 2017 Draft, transferred from Class AA missions to San Antonio on June 21 and is 2-0 with a 5.25 ERA after going pitched 12 rounds in these two Games.
Boushley allowed 17 hits and struck out seven while walking one for El Paso.
His combined season, having started eight games with San Antonio, ended in a 4-3 record with a 4.15 ERA and 43 strikeouts in 47 ”. He allowed 59 hits and walked 10 with a full game.
TAYLOR KOHLWEY: The Holmen High School graduate beats 0.282 of 117 at batting for the San Diego Padres Class AA and AAA affiliates in San Antonio and El Paso.
Kohlwey, who also played for UW-La Crosse before being drafted in the 21st round by San Diego in 2016, is down 0.300 with 10 RBIs and eight runs scored in 17 games since being promoted to the Chihuahuas.
He has one home run, eight doubles and 23 RBIs in a total of 117 batting appearances with both teams this season.
JEREN KENDALL: The Holmen graduate played with the Los Angeles Dodgers Class AA affiliate in Tulsa this season.
