NZ vs PAK, T20 World Cup 2022: Shadab Khan’s commissioning leaves Kiwis in shock; Throw sends Conway back to the clubhouse

NZ vs PAK, T20 World Cup 2022: With New Zealand in the big semi-final, Pakistan got off to a good start and never let up. World Cup T20 best all-rounder Shadab Khan gave Pakistan the crucial breakthrough by sending Devon Conway back to the bench with a spectacular direct hit after Shaheen cleared opener Finn Allen in the very first round.

On the last ball of New Zealand’s power play, Conway tried to steal a single. The dangerous New Zealand fly-half, however, didn’t seem to care about Shadab’s ability on the pitch. When the ball passed through the hands of Shadab Khan, he sent it back into the stumps and, as Conway did not dive, he ended up losing his wicket.

Pakistan’s fiercely paced attack put New Zealand on the defensive. With only 38 points in total at the end of the power play, New Zealand had also lost their first two games. Next, Mohammad Nawaz grabbed and beat top batsman Glenn Phillips. Team captain Kane Williason strove to act as an anchor at one end by developing his sleeves slowly and characteristically. At the end of the 16th, the Kiwis scored 116 with the loss of 3 wickets.

The winner of today’s match will earn a place in the prestigious T20 World Cup 2022 final.
