Sanju Samson shared a cryptic tweet with footage of some of his best performances on the pitch at the demarcation line after being ruled out of India’s T20I squad for the upcoming home series against New Zealand. Samson had scored 484 points with an impressive 40.33 average in the 14th edition of the IPL.

BCCI announced the India squad on Tuesday for the upcoming T20I home series against New Zealand. Rohit Sharma has been named India‘s new captain in the shortest format, while KL Rahul has been chosen as his deputy for the T20I series. Senior players Virat Kohli, Ravindra Jadeja, Mohammad Shami, Jasprit Bumrah and Hardik Pandya have rested for the series.

Awesome 2021 IPL artists Ruturaj Gaikwad, Venkatesh Iyer, Harshal Patel and Avesh Khan were also named to the 16-member squad, but Sanju Samson, who racked up 484 races in the 2021 IPL with an impressive average of 40.33, was excluded from the Indian Team T20I. In all of the IPL, the wicket-keeper batsman has amassed 3,068 runs from 121 games to an average of 29.21, which includes three centuries and 15 half-centuries.

Meanwhile, after being kicked out of the squad, Samson dropped a tweet, indicating that if he doesn’t help with the guard gloves, he’s more of a practical outfielder. Samson shared an image on his Twitter account, in which the Kerala-born drummer can be seen diving deep near the border ropes.

Samson has scored 4,725 points in 193 T20 domestic matches with an average of 28.29. He also scored 2,491 points in 96 List A appearances.
