Seth Hoover joins the Little League® team as the new Shopping Assistant
little league® International is pleased to welcome Seth Hoover as the new Purchasing Assistant at its headquarters in South Williamsport, Pennsylvania, effective September 12, 2022.
“We are thrilled to welcome Seth to our team here in Williamsport as we prepare our leagues for the 2023 season,” said Nancy Grove, director of materials management for the little league. “Seth’s industry experience combined with his baseball background and knowledge of the Williamsport area will be a great asset to our team and we look forward to bringing his skills to help support our organization and , most importantly, our local leagues.”
Mr. Hoover joins the Little League team after most recently serving as a junior buyer for Playworld/Playpower in Lewisburg, Pennsylvania. Previously, he was a material handler, operations coordinator and EHS specialist for Playworld for almost six years. A 2004 graduate of Shippensburg University with a communications/journalism degree focusing on print and art, Mr. Hoover also has experience as a live-in caregiver and photojournalist for The Daily Item in Sunbury, Utah. Pennsylvania.
“Having played more than 20 years of organized baseball at various levels, being part of the Little League organization is a dream come true,” Hoover said. “It’s so nice to know that I’m going to be part of the magic that’s brought to South Williamsport and around the world, every year.”
In this role, Mr. Hoover will be responsible for processing purchase requests submitted by various departments and regions, assisting in the selection and coordination of memorabilia products for World Series volunteer directors, and monitoring the execution of all purchase orders to ensure delivery of desired goods/products. services are timely and in correct price/quantity without sacrificing quality to meet the needs of the organization. Additionally, he will be involved in vendor evaluation, product quality review, and contract negotiation with potential vendors for efficient organizational operations.
